John Ioannidis is considered one of the most influential scientists alive today. He is a professor of Medicine, Epidemiology and Population Health as well as a statistician and professor of biomedical data science at Stanford University. Early in the Covid pandemic he conducted a seroprevalence meta-analysis providing evidence that the infection fatality rate for Covid was much lower than governments, media and their adherents were claiming amidst the use of psychological fear tactics supported by pharmaceutical-funded fraudulent predictive modeling.
Professor Ioannidis was one of the first, but by far not the only public health academic to face swift and vicious personal attacks across mainstream media for daring to challenge the narrative that an alarmingly deadly disease was causing indiscriminate global destruction. Yet the World Health Organization quietly published his findings in their bulletin, showing a general acceptance that his results were in fact correct. The results of his work are now accepted as the most accurate infection fatality rate for this unremarkable influenza-like-illness which seemed to completely replace influenza altogether for two seasons.
As would be expected in such a scenario, with the exception of a few specific locations where medical protocols were particularly barbaric (eg end-of-life care pathways and high-risk interventions such as mechanical ventilation and remdesivir), excess deaths were absent during the “pandemic” in 2020. This was despite widespread reports of death and destruction based on unreliable screening tests used to “diagnose” everyone presenting for healthcare regardless of the reason.
