Voices of Geneva in 2024

Events happened in Geneva, Switzerland, this weekend which your mainstream media outlet are unlikely to have informed you of. Locals in Geneva did not know it was happening either, until they saw it with their own eyes.

The World Health Organization held their 77th World Health Assembly from 27 May to 1 June 2024, where two pieces of international legislation leading towards global governance were the main topics of discussion. Delegates flew in from across the globe, and some reported that their return travel home was not arranged until consensus was decided on the amendments to the International Health Regulations. Some also reported that Tedros, the Director-General, far from the smiling soft-spoken public face he shares, acts as a bully behind closed doors.

At the same time as World Health Assembly conference proceedings were taking place, an Inspired Global Leadership Network conference was held in Geneva. Leading figures in fields of medical science, law, media, human rights advocacy and data analysis attended. When British cardiologist Aseem Malhotra, Chief Medical Officer of the Inspired Network Team, heard that Tedros was in the same hotel, he put out an invitation. It was never acknowledged.

On Saturday 1 June, The Inspired Network collaborating with Free Humanity, held the We Are the Change Rally and March at Place de Nations, across the road from the United Nations Headquarters, before a peaceful, police-guarded march through the city streets. Events were livestreamed here. During the march locals came onto their balconies with cameras and down onto the streets to meet the marchers. Reports included a WHO employee stating they agreed with the cause as WHO leadership are doing the wrong thing, and claims that Geneva has never seen a protest this big.

A diluted version of the Amendments to the International Health Regulations was passed via proceedings in which the room of 194 delegates are asked, in presence of WHO leadership, if there are any objections to the resolution. When noone speaks out, the resolution is passed and rapturous applause ensues.

The International Health Regulations which are planned to become legislation can be read here. For a brief analysis, see here.

A group of 10 international lawyers connected to the Inspired Network held a press briefing on the morning of 1 June to provide their full analysis of the 77th World Health Assembly. Swiss attorney Philipp Kruse spoke first, his twelve minute address is below. To hear the World Health Organization leadership press conference, held at around the same time, see here.
