The other day a friend in Cambodia shared this photograph of a young man not receiving his anti-HIV medications. In the same email she told the story of a dog she was unable to save before it died of starvation in front of her.
Cambodia continues to report no local transmission of Coronavirus despite concerted surveillance. Yet the survival of people reliant on a daily cash income is severely threatened and anecdotal reports suggest that suicide rates are on the rise. Existing services to the world’s leading killers of Malaria, Tuberculosis and HIV are severely disrupted, causing a horrific domino effect. There is no attention to this direct Coronavirus impact in any news outlets that I can find.

Horrific. So much more to this pandemic than meets the eye.
