Novavax has been considered by many to be safer than the mRNA vaccines. Novavax, like BioNTech (partner to Pfizer) and Moderna, had never brought another product to market prior to the Covid-19 goldrush. At the beginning of the pandemic they did not even have a production plant.
Novavax uses the Fall Armyworm platform. This worm/moth is a parasite of crops in North America, which gets infected by a baculovirus. The manufacturers genetically modify the baculovirus to make spike protein, and culture it in a broth before purifying it to make the product. For every 5mcg of spike protein there is also 1mcg of Fall Armyworm protein and also some remnants of baculovirus. The health effects of this remain unknown. Learn more here.
This is an excellent example of the story at Human Pharming Vol 2, about the enormous number of patented pharmaceutical products which are approved by regulatory agencies, making massive profits for the manufacturers, which are then silently removed from the market. In a meeting yesterday some doctor colleagues were discussing the fanfare that occurs when new drugs enter the market, and the way that they then silently disappear, never to be heard of again. The FDA remove 1.2 new drugs from the American formulary per day!! Are regulators becoming less competent or more corrupt?
