Pointing the Finger

In his recent interview with Dr Drew, Professor Denis Rancourt stated that a feature of totalitarian regimes is that citizens deliberately self-censor.

Cambodia – a totalitarian regime with a billionaire leader who rules with an iron fist whilst offering bags of rice to impoverished villagers occasionally to show what a good guy he is – are currently in “election” mode. Supporters of the encumbent regime (in place for nearly 40 years) seek conspicuous agreement from their peers and the general community, such as being asked to wear government-promoting t-shirts and invitations to “election” events, etc.

People have two choices: to show support; or to find a way to stay away from certain situations (basically, to stay at home) in order to avoid scrutiny. Openly disagreeing is risky.

When I lived there, my Cambodian friends often shared opinions with me which didn’t concur with the ruling class ideology of corruption and compliance. They always did so out of hearing range from others because it was never entirely clear who they could trust.

In a million years I never imagined that such behaviour would become a feature of life in what was until very recently, the democratic world. I grew up in an atmosphere of diverse opinion, robust and free debate, and the right to speak. I watched in dismay in 2020 as that suddenly turned on its head in the workplace, with an aggression that shocked me. Even before I understood what was happening, I had a sense that this related in some way to impoverishment.

I now live in an atmosphere where those with the “right” views hold court with loud confidence, and those with the “wrong” views remain silent and work in covert ways that are reminiscent of resistance movements throughout history.

These are not good times for the democratic world.

Thankfully there is an intelligent and courageous resistance, including human rights advocates, medical professionals, journalists, lawyers, as well as just ordinary people who value democracy. Unfortunately it all occurs outside of the established system where non-conformity now guarantees a loss of career, reputation and/or livelihood.

Opponents of the establishing regime who continue to work in the system do so with caution to avoid scrutiny. Many no longer work in the system at all. All are focused on the fight at hand which includes supporting people with vaccine injury, pushing back on the massive changes to laws being rushed through parliament without public knowledge, and attempting to alert the legacy-media-consuming public that they might not like what is happening if they knew that it was happening.

Hopefully there are examples through history where totalitarian regimes attempted to establish and failed. I personally only know of those who succeeded, and the disaster it inevitably reaps on humanity. Nevertheless it sometimes feels as though I paid far more attention to history than most people.

Representative Jim Jordan gave this speech on censorship at the US House Judiciary Committee: Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government yesterday.

The same thing is happening across the democratic world, including in New Zealand.

When he wrote Eternal Fascism in 1995, Umberto Eco wasn’t thinking of a globalist movement taking hold. Today, what happens in America happens across nations, often simultaneously. For example in New Zealand this week the Therapeutic Products Bill was passed through parliament despite a massive push-back from the general public. In Canada, a similar law is Bill C-47. In Australia similar is reportedly happening.

The safest, non-patented, non-big-pharma products will be heavily regulated. In lockstep across nations. This is perhaps the most obvious sign of the partnership that governments now have with the pharmaceutical industry, in absence of the multi-billion-dollar contracts relating to the covid-19 “vaccines” which remain unavailable for public review across nations.

  1. The current Labor, Australian government is attempting to pass a bill limiting “disinformation and misinformation”.
This is happening when what was censored during the COVID has since been proven correct.

    1. Censorship is central to being able to enforce this “new world order”. They will only get away with it if they can control all information flows. My first sense that something was extremely wrong, was when the NZ PM announced “We will be your single source of truth”.
