At a recent event involving 8 people, one had just buried a 64yo relative who died of rapidly progressive bowel cancer. A young woman diagnosed with bowel cancer during pregnancy was discussed. The 30-something sibling of another has recently completed bowel cancer treatment. On a daily basis now, new illnesses, often very unusual and severe, are revealed in conversation. So many are sick with infections of the respiratory and gastrointestinal tracts.
These are not normal days.

Dr Soon-Shiong is a renowned transplant surgeon and wealthy investor who initially involved himself in covid vaccine manufacture. It looks like the tables are turning. “This idea of the effectiveness and safety of the vaccines … we are going to have to address the rising incidence of cancer. For the first time in my career I’ve seen an 8 year old, 9yo, 10yo, with colon cancer. For the first time in my career I’ve had a 13yo child in our clinic, die of metastatic pancreatic cancer… We have to face this …. the good news is we can do something about it …”
